Catalog description
Emphasizes the intensive study and practice of writing in the natural sciences, attentive to a range of purposes, audiences, situations, and uses, addressing scholarly, applied, and/or public genres, formats, and conventions. Each iteration, though specialized to fields of study science-based thematic inquiry, will involve study and analysis of theoretical and representative texts, and students will develop researched writing projects that demonstrate rhetorical and genre awareness. Special topics areas could include field-specific academic writing options, professional writing in the natural sciences, and/or science writing for public advocacy, among many others.
