Catalog description

Supports graduate students as teaching assistants and future faculty who will teach, mentor, and advise students. Provides students with an understanding of the demographics, learning conditions, and needs of today’s college students. Prepares students to be able to cultivate inclusive spaces in classrooms to welcome all students, especially those from marginalized and under-represented backgrounds. Exposes students to teaching approaches that are effective in promoting student learning, with a focus on active learning strategies and appropriate assessment tools.
