Examines artificial intelligence through a sociological lens, exploring how AI technologies shape and are shaped by social structures and institutions. Analyzes the complex relationships between AI development and key societal domains including climate and the environment, education, social control/surveillance, and labor markets. Emphasizes AI as a socially embedded system that reflects existing social relationships and power structures. Considers the societal implications of technological choices in an increasingly AI-integrated world.
