Catalog description

Examines the relationship between climate change and its impacts on society. Recognizes that over the past three decades global warming has unleashed a series of catastrophic environmental events, including record breaking heat waves, frequent wildfires, sustained drought, flooding, and monster storms and related extreme weather events. Focuses on the following themes: 1) Anthropogenic drivers of global warming; 2) Knowledge of key social theories and concepts related to societal responses to climate change, including treadmill of production versus ecological modernization, adaptation, resiliency, and mitigation; 3) The unequal distribution of environmental harms and exposure associated with Climate Change across the United States and globe; 4) Institutional and non-institutional collective actions to address climate change.
