Advanced Topics in Developmental Psychology

Catalog description
Introduces and studies a special topic or problem of psychological interest in the domain of developmental psychology treated at an advanced level for students with statistical and methodological training. Each class will have a specific focus which will be defined by the instructor of the course on a semester-by-semester basis. Example topics include identity development, child and family well-being, family communication, culture and development, aging, and lifespan emotional development. Students will apply understanding and skills developed in psychological statistics and research methods to evaluate theory and empirical findings related to the topic of interest.
