Topics in Health Psychology

Catalog description

Introduces and studies a special topic or problem of psychological interest in the domain of physical health and well-being. Each class will have a specific focus which will be defined by the instructor of the course on a semester-by-semester basis. Example topics include identity and health, motivation and well-being, stress, coping, and emotion, and patient-physician communication. Course content will include both historical perspectives on the topic as well as recent, empirically informed theories and findings.
