Catalog description
Trains students to think critically about data, the patterns they reveal, and when such patterns are most likely to depict causal effects. Explores relationships between variables and how/why data can be misunderstood. As an applied course, offers students the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of programming in R that will lend itself to a variety of quantitative/computational tasks. Focuses on select forms of data processing and analysis relevant to studying government, politics, and policy.
