Examines the development of environmentalist thought in the United States and the interaction between philosophy and politics. Major topics include the relationship between humans and nature, Indigenous and settler-colonial environmental thought, ecofascism past and present, and environmental justice. Course fees cover an overnight trip to a national park or similar wilderness area, such as Yosemite National Park or Henry Coe State Park.
