Catalog description

Provides an introduction to the philosophy of science. Topics might include induction and scientific reasoning, causation, explanation, laws of nature, model-based science, values in science, and realism and anti-realism. Examples will be drawn from a variety of natural and social scientific fields, such as environmental science, public health, and political science. Emphasizes primary literature in the field in a discussion-based format.
