Explores medicine through student’s personal mission, identities as future health care professionals, and membership in a learning and professional community. Defines health, identifies determinants of health and analyzes healthcare delivery through interactive sessions. Assesses students’ current level of skill in pre-medical competencies and develop SMART goals for progressing. Discusses cases and scenarios to practice skills in teamwork, communication, studying, wellness, and critical thinking. Pairs students with a physician mentor who meet regularly to guide their professional development.
