Catalog description

Explores the three major traditions of East Asian thought (Daoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism) via primary source texts from major thinkers as well as their influences in creative works including poetry, painting, sculpture, and even wuxia (martial artists’) fiction. Aside from the distinctive strands within these major schools of thought that have developed over two millennia, the course also features lesser known—but also important—traditions such as Legalism, Mohism, and the Kyoto School.
