Introduces the art of landscape painting in an immersive and hands-on manner. Explores a variety of techniques to depict natural environments, from traditional approaches to experimental methods. Focuses on composition, color theory, perspective, and the interplay of light and atmosphere to capture the essence of a landscape. Features a strong focus on plein air (outdoor) painting. Allows students to paint on and off campus at carefully selected outdoor locations. Through direct observation, photo references, and imaginative interpretation, develops the ability to convey mood, emotion, and storytelling through painting.
