Student Naturalist Training

Catalog description

Provides background knowledge and hands-on experience to become naturalists. Includes frequent on-campus field trips to the Merced Vernal Pools & Grassland Reserve (MVPGR) to learn about its ecology and environmental history. Covers topics such as hiking, nature study, wildflower identification, bird watching, and outdoor wellness. Trains students to lead and accompany field trips for classes and the public, as well as assist with research and conservation projects.
