Catalog description

This course explores basic concepts of children's literature. From this foundation, a deeper look into culture, social issues and language acquisition takes place. Ultimately, the class analyzes how linguistic development concurrently shapes and reflects our world view. Texts from a large variety of different cultures will be reviewed to prepare future teachers how to address a wide range of social issues in their classroom curriculum and pedagogy.
