This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of human trafficking. Students learn about the various types of human trafficking, the contributing factors, and the impact on victims and survivors. Students study the complexities of human trafficking and examine the multifaceted responses and solutions, including the role of policing, law, government, and community-based organizations. Course content also gives focus to assessing human trafficking within the United States and across the world, while examining socio-cultural and legal factors that fuel the problem. The role of globalization and technology in human trafficking is also studied.
