Ecological and Social Healing

Catalog description

This course explores how the oppression of earth and the oppression of people have gone hand in hand and how this understanding builds capacity for mindful leadership and worldview transformation. The material will pull from various sources within the fields of ecopsychology, social justice, and mindfulness. The class will be asynchronous and highly interactive, requiring a deep level of attention, reflection, and engagement by all participants, as well as the willingness to work with difficult emotions. Students will examine their own stories, worldviews, and actions within these realms and apply this to their area of research and work. As a result of this course, students will have heightened capacities to bring these issues to their work and service to the world.
