Catalog description

This individual seminar is taken after all coursework and comprehensive exams are completed. The first step is identifying the chair of the dissertation committee, a CIIS core faculty member whose research interests are congruent with the student's. The dissertation chair guides the proposal writing process. Students should meet regularly with their dissertation chair to develop the dissertation proposal and discuss progress. This course may be taken for a maximum of three semesters. The dissertation proposal must be completed and approved by a three-person guiding committee before student begins work on the dissertation. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of two ESR Comprehensive Exams. RESTRICTED TO ESR PH.D. STUDENTS.
