Epidemiology Epidemiology In this course, basic statistical concepts important to the practice of any biomedical field, and the role and scope of research that builds the basic skill of developing research designs, and methods and critically analyzing research findings will be introduced. Students will learn basic descriptive statistics, probability, sampling distributions, inferential statistical tests, and sample size/statistical power calculations. This course emphasizes the relationship between the literature review and the research study and the elements of a research proposal. This course will also introduce students to the basic principles of Epidemiology.
