Catalog description

This course provides the underlying concepts to the role of the gastrointestinal system in normal bodily functions. As such, it will provide the learner with clinically relevant foundational knowledge in areas that include but are not limited to anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, immunology and nutrition. Anatomical concepts will be presented through Immersive Learning Sessions. Topics in this course are delivered via active learning sessions including TeamBased Learning (TBL), Designated Study Assignment (DSA), Immersive learning sessions (ILS), Clinically Integrated Sessions (CIS), simulation-based activities and use of standardized patients.
