Course Description: Long-term evolutionary dynamics in human technology and technological systems as informed by the archaeological record, including lithics, ceramics, wood, basketry, and metallurgy. Emphasis on the significance of material resources in ancient human adaptation, economics, settlement patterns, and culture change. Lab experiments to demonstrate particular concepts.
