Three hours lecture per week This course examines the historical context, social dynamics, and institutional structures that shape first-generation college student experiences. Through critical analysis of educational systems, social justice frameworks, and intersectional perspectives, students investigate challenges and opportunities facing first-generation students. The course emphasizes developing academic skills, building cultural capital, and fostering agency while engaging with research on first-generation student success and institutional transformation.
