Catalog description

Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of the state and local government and US constitution graduation requirement. This course provides an overview of policies and laws that shape the agricultural industry at the local, statewide, and national level. Students will examine the role of government agencies in enforcing policies, stakeholder participation in the rulemaking process, and the environmental, social, and economic implications of regulatory frameworks. Topics include groundwater management, food safety regulations, sustainable pest management, and labor rights.
