Three hours of lecture a week Prerequisite(s): SPAN 201 and SPAN 202 ; or SPAN 211 and SPAN 212 ; or Consent of Instructor Provides students with practice in the interpreting profession. Emphasizes skill development in the main three modes (sight, consecutive, and simultaneous). Builds fluency, improves listening comprehension, and advances speed and accuracy in information processing and conversion in both English and Spanish. Provides skill-building activities for memory, reaction time, vocabulary, and grammar. Presents various points on issues, ethics, protocols, decision-making while interpreting, and professional standards.
