Catalog description

Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): SOC 202, SOC 300, SOC 305 Examines the epistemological evolution and empirical application of qualitative research methods. These methods include the following tools: interviews, observation, ethnography, focus groups, content analysis, participatory action research, evaluation research, and mixed methods. Students will analyze exemplar works, and practice data collection and analysis techniques, with an emphasis on positionality.
