Catalog description

Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Masters Program in Mathematics The main objective of this course is for students to gain insight into the learning and teaching of algebra through an exploration of the research literature in this area. Additionally, the object of learning ( what is being learned) will be reconceived for a number of topics typically addressed in school algebra courses. Students will also have the opportunity to analyze student reasoning and explore alternative instructional approaches.
