Three hours lecture per week Examines the broad arc of immigration history in the United States from the colonial period to the present. The course traces the diverse experiences of migrants from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The course analyzes the relationship between immigration policies and legislation and constructions of race, ethnicity, and citizenship across time and place.
