Three hours lecture per week Introduces key concepts in environmental science and resource management through an interdisciplinary exploration of natural and social systems. Topics include biogeochemical cycling, hydrogeomorphology, biodiversity, food production, energy use, water supply, population growth, and the cumulative effects of human activity on the environment. Students apply the scientific method to examine issues such as climate change, ecosystem services, and environmental justice. Course activities emphasize interdisciplinary analysis and community engagement, encouraging students to connect scientific understanding with civic responsibility through hands-on projects and local environmental action.
