Catalog description

Three hours seminar per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to English MA Degree Focused study of selected issues, theories, and practices in English Studies, with applications to teaching writing, literature, and language in college-level contexts, including dual enrollment and community college settings. Topics vary by session and may include foundational or emerging work in literary and cultural theory, the social construction of language, interpretive practices, and applied areas such as digital humanities, writing pedagogy, multimodal communication, and equity-minded teaching. The course integrates theoretical inquiry with applied design and reflective practice. May be repeated for up to 9 units. Repeat 3 times up to 9 units
