Catalog description

Three hours seminar per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to the CSUCI English MA Degree Examines major rhetorical theories and analytic frameworks in composition and rhetoric and applies them to the analysis of textual, visual, and multimodal artifacts. Students use rhetorical concepts such as genre, audience, purpose, and context to produce rigorous, evidence-based interpretations across literary, scholarly, civic/public, professional, and digital texts. Selected analyses are translated into brief, student-facing explanations or materials to demonstrate how rhetorical theory informs college-level English instruction.
