Three hours seminar per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to English MA Degree Exploration of contemporary, equitable approaches to assessing writing and learning, including ungrading, contract grading, labor-based grading, formative and summative assessment, self-assessment, and portfolio evaluation. Emphasis on reflective and justice-oriented practices that center student agency, transparency, and feedback. Students will design classroom and program-level assessment plans and critically evaluate how assessment practices impact motivation, equity, and learning in diverse educational contexts.
