Three hours lecture per week Introduction to critical approaches to the study of Black, Chicana/o, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Native American and Indigenous literary, cultural, and intellectual traditions. Examines how texts interrogate concepts of race, power, access, systemic inequality, and structural violence within the United States. Emphasizes histories of artistic, social, and political movements; racialized lived experiences; citizenship, belonging, resistance, and resilience; and access to education and economic and social mobility.
