Capstone Preparation

One hour lecture per week Prerequisite(s): MATH 408, DATA 347, and Senior Standing This is a project-based course designed to guide students through the foundational steps necessary to launch a successful capstone experience in DATA 499. Through scaffolded activities, students will identify a dataset, develop research questions, and formulate a feasible proposal that outlines the stages of their intended project, including data cleaning, modeling, written analysis, and oral presentation. The course emphasizes self-directed learning, ethical data practices, project planning, and clear communication.
