Variable hours independent studies per week Prerequisite(s): Consent of Instructor The Independent Studies course serves as a culmination or deepening of inquiry, strengthening the student’s initiative, motivation, independent learning, and knowledge in Black Studies. Provides students with an opportunity to further coursework begun in other courses or do research in areas of interest in Black Studies that are not available in departmental courses. The student will conduct in-depth study or research on an approved topic of their choice under the supervision of a faculty supervisor. Approval by faculty member or chairperson/Program Director required to register. Variable units. Repeat 2 times up to 6 units
