Three hours lecture per week Explores representations of Black resistance through various mediums, focusing on how Black people have articulated their lived and material realities in response to systemic oppression. Examining key moments such as enslaved rebellions, the formation of Black newspapers, and social movements, students will analyze why resistance takes specific forms in different contexts and how these efforts succeed or fail.
