Catalog description

Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MS in Biology This course introduces graduate students to statistical methods, data presentation, and scientific writing necessary to carry out original research in the biological sciences. Students will learn how to summarize, analyze and graphically present univariate and multivariate datasets. Students will also practice giving oral presentations and learn how to prepare posters for scientific meetings. Scientific writing will also be emphasized, including the writing of thesis/grant proposals and original papers for publication in scientific journals.
