Three hours lecture per week An introduction to the major issues of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander women in the United States since the 1850s. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will explore the social, cultural, and political forces that have shaped AAPI women’s lives. It examines the experiences of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander women and includes themes which analyze immigration, gender, sexuality, feminist theory, intersectionality, labor, family and activism to achieve social justice.
