Catalog description

This course expands upon traditional stage lighting design to include the rapidly evolving field of integrated video and projection design for live performance. Students will explore the artistic, technical, and collaborative processes of creating cohesive visual environments that merge light, color, movement, and media. Through script analysis, research, and hands-on projects, students will develop design concepts that unify lighting and video elements to support narrative, mood, and spatial transformation. Emphasis is placed on digital rendering, cue structure, programming, and the use of current technologies such as projection mapping, media servers, and LED systems. Students will produce complete lighting and video design packages suitable for professional or academic production contexts.
