Intro to Physical Therapy

Catalog description

This course introduces the student to the field of physical therapy by covering the history and ethics of the profession as they relate to the healthcare system. The course addresses the development of the healthcare team, philosophy of rehabilitation, interviewing patients, inter-professional communication, cultural awareness, patient confidentiality, and the psychosocial impact of illness and injury. The scope of practice of the physical therapist assistant is emphasized.
