Catalog description

Building on the foundations established in earlier Methods and Materials courses, this advanced course focuses on comprehensive ensemble instruction and program development at the secondary level. Students refine rehearsal techniques, study advanced literature, and learn strategies for assessment, recruitment, retention, and performance preparation. Topics also include organizing festivals, tours, and concerts, and collaborating with colleagues and communities. Teaching demonstrations provide practical experience in leading vocal and instrumental ensembles.
