The Pedagogy of Play

Catalog description

This course details the significance of play and play based learning in an early childhood and early elementary classroom. The engagement of play is significant in the development of young children; therefore, the pedagogy of play is pertinent to any PK-3 classroom educator working with the developing child. Students will gain an insight on learning outcomes regarding play-based theory, child directed play, and the conceptual framework of play-based learning. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to create meaningful learning experiences amplifying play as the process by which children gain knowledge and experience.
