The Global Travel Deaf Studies Practicum is a three-unit, supervised course that provides field experience for students that correlates with their educational and vocational objectives The course includes practical experience at the practicum site(s) over the course of the semester as well as meeting during their scheduled class time; class activities will include professional development activities and reflection, as well as preparation for the practicum travel experience. Students should anticipate approx. 100 hours of commitment. This practicum provides an opportunity to travel globally (for example, attending the international Deaflympics: https://www.deaflympics.com/). The course is taught in ASL. Prerequisite: Permission of the Program Director and/or Department Chair. (3 units). Pass/Fail. May be repeated for up to 6-units of credit.
