Catalog description

The Deaf Studies Practicum is a three-unit, supervised course that provides field experience for students that correlates with their educational and vocational objectives. The site and schedule of learning activities are to be chosen and assigned in consultation with the department chair or program director. The course includes practical experience at the practicum site(s) over the course of the semester as well as meeting during their scheduled class time; class activities will include professional development activities and reflection, as well as preparation for the practicum travel experience. Students should anticipate approx. 100 hours of commitment. Prerequisite: Permission of the Program Director and/or Department Chair. (3 units). Pass/Fail. May be repeated for up to 6-units of credit.
