Catalog description
This course explores a diversity of family systems and gender(ed) experiences cross-culturally. Using case studies and theoretical perspectives in anthropology, students explore the tangible roles family and gender play throughout the world. Further, students consider the impact of gender and family in medical contexts, including healthcare delivery and dynamic engagement with family and gender in medicine. Students also consider ethical challenges of understanding varied family and gender expectations alongside a distinctly Biblical worldview.
