This course provides an advanced, applied examination of privacy, security, and compliance in health information management. Students progress to the design and application of privacy and security strategies, advanced legal processes, healthcare fraud and abuse prevention, and organizational compliance program development. Topics include HIPAA Security Rule safeguard framework design, he alth information life cycle compliance, e -discovery and legal health record obligations, the False Claims Act, Anti -Kickback Statute, consumer engagement and patient rights governance, workforce training program design, cultural competency in compliance p ractice, and applied professional ethics.
