Students analyze financial statements, develop departmental budgets, and evaluate major payment methodologies including prospective payment systems, value -based reimbursement, and managed care contracts. Emphasis is placed on the HIM professional's role in ensuring accurate reimbursement through complete and compliant documentation and coding practices.
