Independent Study (1-3 Credits)

Catalog description

Independent studies in the Strategic Communication major (STCM 499) are faculty-supervised but individually structured and developed projects that allow students to investigate communication-related topics and projects beyond the structured curriculum and explore content closely related to student interest. The following are guidelines more than rules and the specifics of independent study processes are up to individual faculty members and the department chair. Independent studies require students to be highly self-motivated and assume students have a solid grounding in communication studies.
