Catalog description

This course develops students' understanding of persuasive communication and abilities to create effective persuasive messages. Content includes theories of persuasion, attitude change, and message design that can be used to craft persuasive messages. In particular, this course will focus on effective strategies for accomplishing various influence tasks, such as securing one's credibility, demonstrating the severity of a problem, advocating change, and mobilizing publics.
