Catalog description

Taught by CDSP. This online course is the second in a two-course sequence that introduces students to the core topics and methods of Christian systematic theology. Although special emphasis is placed on the Anglican tradition, students encounter the central theologians and theological perspectives necessary for an adequate foundation in Christian theology. In this final course, the theological topics considered are: church, sacraments, Christianity and interreligious relations, eschatology, theological method, and hermeneutics. The course is taught primarily as a seminar, with the instructor presenting material that is then discussed in depth by the class in order to elucidate the salient terms, debates, and themes of the topic at hand. Writing assignments consisting of reading response papers on class readings and short essays, also based on class readings, are the central requirements. [PIN required; contact [email protected].]
