Cross-Cultural Christologies

Taught by JST. This seminar course is a cross-cultural approach to Christology. By considering the social and cultural contexts of Euro-American, Latin American, African, and Asian Christians, we will survey the various ways that these communities have experienced the person and work of Jesus Christ. In addition, we will look at the non-Christian views of Christ (e.g., Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim). With an emphasis on ecumenical concerns and global perspectives, we will bring new perspectives and responses to the old question that Christ posed to his followers: "Who do you say that I am?"
