Catalog description

This course explores the representations of illnesses and diseases in literature and film from Latin America and Spain. The course analyzes how mental and physical wellbeing is presented in the content and style of literary texts and films. Students will analyze poems, short stories, novels, essays and films from Latin America and Spain and connect some of the treatments presented in the texts and films with historical and sociocultural (mal)practices and beliefs from the different regions. This course is conducted completely in Spanish.
